Tagalog * (Tagalog is a native language of the Philippines)
malamig na gabi
tulad ng iyong
salawahang puso
night chill
the coldness
of your love
2
mahabang gabi
dinoble ko ang aking kumot
wala ka sa piling
long night
I double my blanket
in your absence
3
ospital silid hintayan
ang plastik na mga bulaklak
palaging bukad
waiting room
the plastic flowers
always in bloom
4
malamlam na buwan
natakpan ng ulap
sa kanyang paglisan
the moon hides
in the wisp of clouds
my wife no more
5
biglang ulan
ang hubad kong apo
naglaro sa tubig
sudden rain
my nude granddaughter
plays in the puddle
6
pinagbiling bahay
puno ng halakhak
ng mga bata
sold house
children's laughter echoes
from its bare walls

museum of past loves
in a building with no doors
walls or windows
scientifically on display
pinned butterfly loves
behind glass
held in a formaldehyde fog
the most delicate touch
of trivial dialog
disrupts patterns of dust
no longer layered precisely
memory shards
in reassembled facsimile
remain in shadowed halls
decks of gypsy cards
haunt maps of mobius loops
yet I can still see your eyes
feel the touch
remember how love calls
